Frequently asked questions
What makes the TH-1 a 4-in-1 thermometer?
The TH-1 has four temperature measurement modes: ear, forehead, object surface, and room. Ear and forehead modes are for body temperature. Object and room modes are for non-body temperature measurements.
What is the difference between ear and forehead modes?
Ear mode, also called tympanic mode, uses the ear probe to measure temperature through the ear canal. Forehead mode, also called temporal mode, measures at the forehead. Use the correct mode and probe cover configuration described in the included manual.
How quickly does the TH-1 give a reading?
A measurement takes approximately 1 second. Select the correct mode and position the thermometer as directed in the user manual.
Can I turn the sound off?
Yes. Silent mode lets you mute the thermometer's audible beeps for quieter temperature checks.
Is the Med-Pat TH-1 FDA cleared?
